I hate going to these check-ups every Friday morning. I am almost 36 weeks and all my doctor does is take my blood pressure, measure my belly, weigh me, and listen to Zylanna's heartbeat. At 36 weeks, isn't the doctor supposed to tell you something new?? Like is my baby in the right position, is she doing okay, what does she weigh, where do I go to deliver, ANYTHING?! I'm so about to call out on tomorrow's appointment. Why is my doctor treating me like I am still 20 weeks?! 😠😭

@mamanelson23, thanks for listening, hon!

@kelcscott well that just seems so crazy to not know what's going on inside there until you basically give birth! Oh well. @chichi1975 that's true. I guess I figured they would remember me but yeah I am one out of many patients. Thank you honey!

This is my third and I ask questions every visit your paying them and it's their job to answer but it's our job to ask I think sometimes they just assume you already know they see a lot of people per day so ask away congrats on your soon to be little bundle❤️

I'm 38 weeks and today was my first cervix check. some doctors just prefer to let the baby grow as much as possible. as long as the heart beat is healthy and your measuring correctly they aren't concerned.

@mama.to.zylanna, I understand that. I know it's hard and I know you shouldn't be the one holding someone's hand when they should know more about what's going on. Just hang in there.

@mamanelson23, I lost my son to preterm labor, so I'm glad I've made it this far. I will just ask them, again, I just didn't know I had to do all the dang work... that's what I have a doctor for. I feel like they are just slacking off now that I've made it this far.

@mama.to.zylanna, Ask new mom is supposed to be paranoid. I was. But I gave birth to my son 7 weeks early. I also waited 7 hours before going to the hospital when I thought I was having contractions and by the time I got there I was 4 centimeters dilated and 75% effaced.

@eclark2696, I will try to stay calm and I'll ask what's up. I just don't get it.

@mamanelson23, Thank you! So, what's your take? Are my doctors slacking or am I being paranoid and letting my anxiety get to me?

@mama.to.zylanna, I have two wonderful babies from two high risk pregnancies so you can ask me anything if you want to. I would love to help you out and be part of your support system.

@eclark2696, no they haven't checked. They just keep doing the same thing every single week, nothing new at all. 😭 I feel completely in the dark. And now my anxiety is messing with me because I feel like I'm just floating along and at some point I will go into labor and then... what?

During pregnancy they don't really do too many tests just an occasional blood draw unless you're having complications in your pregnancy. Ask them on Friday. You really need to go and not miss it since baby could come any time really. Have they checked to see if you are thinning or dilated?

@eclark2696, nope! I figured once I got far enough along thry would be discussing these things with me when they felt it was time.

@mamanelson23 I guess I will have to. But isn't it their job to be proactive and offer information that's important like this?? I am not a doctor and I am a first time Mom & they are making mr really nervous. I didn't know I had to do their job for them and drag pertinent information out of them. I thought they would just start doing more tests and coaching me...

@shortizzie I will, but I've never been a Mom before, how am I supposed to know that they are just being lazy asses and that I have to hold their hand? I hear every day about Moms to be that know approximately how much their baby weighs and their height.

I am seeing a team of high risk doctors and I'm thankful because they've been taking care of me... but now it's like they are slacking and don't care! I am getting so frustrated and pissed off! I am not a doctor! I don't know what I am supposed to be aware of at 36 weeks, I've never made it this far before... 😭😭😭

just ask any questions you have. I had to, otherwise I didn't get answers. I was asked at 38 weeks by a nurse if I wanted them to check if I was dilated. I opted to wait until 39 weeks.

@mama.to.zylanna, Ask those questions and any others you may have. That's what those appointments are for sweetie.

You still don't know where you're delivering??? I knew from the very beginning with both of mine.
