Question for mommas who have breast fed and pumped. Did your baby have a issue taking a bottle over breast feeding. ?
My bf thinks that if I breast feed our little girl, she won't take a bottle, and he won't get to feed her. So he asked me to strictly pump milk. Which I know will be extremely time consuming, and I will loose so much sleep I'll barley even get at night having to pump every 2 hours and for 30 minutes and then feed her. Plus freezing breast milk, kills some good stuff in the milk. I wanna experience that breastfeeding bond with her and he just seems to make me feel I'm being selfish because of it.
Idk what to do and feel really upset and depressed about this. Would love to hear some thoughts on breast feeding and feeding pumped milk also

Well, I exclusively pump because my daughter won't latch. I honestly think it's because I bottle feed her.

I breastfed and pumped. The first couple months was strictly breastfeeding. No bottle. There was really no reason behind why. When I started working and she had to eat out of a bottle she didn't really like it. Until we found a bottle that she took to then we had no issue with it.

when you breastfeed, your baby exchanges DNA and saliva in the breast. what this does is if your baby gets sick or if you get sick even, your body will make antibodies in the breastmilk specifically for your child to get better. when you pump and feed your baby through a bottle, your baby won't be able to exchange the DNA and get the antibodies your body will make for him or her. so they won't get well from the illness as fast as they would if they were being breastfed. you should tell your bf to shove it. Lol :-)

It's possible to do both, I occasionally pump and store it so when hubby wants to feed our daughter he can but mostly she's breastfed. The first month tho has to be strictly breast so there's no nipple confusion. Then after that first month you just have to find a bottle that baby likes. My daughter only likes tommee tippee bottles and avent bottles

I exclusively breastfed & pump so when i need a break or when i go to work my son can get bottle fed. took him a little while to find a bottle he liked but he's 3 months old & bottle feed great & i still nurse him with no problems

I only pump being of him having latching problems from engorgement and now he will only take breast milk from a bottle and gets frustrated on the boob so no problem with it but I miss that connection we originally had while breast feeding

My little girl is 2 months ebf and she hates the bottle. First of all is your SO going to be home all day? And are you going to be? If he is not then i would breastfeed your LO when hes not home and at night but still pump so thay he can feed your baby when hes around. It might take time for your LO to get used to both but your baby will.

My son is 7 months. My husband use to say the same but I'm the one at home with the baby all day so I ebf. My son is not fond of the bottle. It's a great bond. Although I'm slowly weaning my son away now, I don't want him completely on the bottle only. You should ebf until your child is older. There are plenty of ways he can bond with the baby other than feedings. They say that and half the time don't want to do it.
