Also, I'm feeling very uncomfortable thinking about my mother in law alone with my baby because of some of the stuff she has said like suggesting putting a pillow in the playpen for my daughter to lay on or suggesting propping up her bottle with a stuffed animal also she has told me to lay her on her side when she is sleeping when she is a newborn. she has even gone so far as to talking about taking her to a rock concert when she will only be a few days old!!! I know all of these things she has suggested are a huge no no and I honestly don't want her to be alone with my baby because she honestly doesn't know what the hell she is talking about and she is the kind of person who will listen to what I have to say about how to take care of MY daughter and then go behind my back and do stuff I don't want her doing. So any thoughts ladies?

sounds like my MIL. Mine believes old wives tales that have been proven wrong. She brain washes my husband with all that crap.

I don't know your MIL, but I definitely wouldn't let her watch my baby. As for all the wrong advice? I would just nod and say "ok. Sounds good" and just do your own thing

my daughter slept with a pillow in the play pen, but she had to or she would throw everything up. she had really bad acid reflux so if she ate right before she napped we would have to prop her up so she didn't throw up while sleeping. it's a BIG no no to prop a newborns bottle up. my 6 month old gets hers slightly propped but that's bc sometimes when she's holding it she lets go and it catches it so it's not spilling all over her.
but I wouldn't let her watch your baby. I would find someone else.

Don't let her be alone with her. I'm the type of person that would call the cops on her for that shit

absolutely tell her she cannot watch her. If she gets mad, who cares. You are Mom. Your rules, your baby.

keep your baby with you at all times. if she wants to to hold your baby you be in the room with her
