Anyone else thinking about donating the baby's cord blood? I applied at Be The Match to donate for free, since I think it's a waste to throw it out when it can save a life, but I didn't get any answer from them.

my hospital took my cord blood from the boys, it was to expensive to store it so I would rather them take it and use it where someone can benefit. But my hospital was also a research and teaching hospital

I'm having my baby at a University Hospital.. but as far as I know they don't take the cord blood for research there.. I'll look again into it.

I also can't store it myself, too expensive.. @twinmamma2015

yeah I had my boys at a university hospital as well. I would ask at your next appointment. just be like hey do you all use cord blood or take it for research or something, cuz I don't mind I want it to go help someone who can benefit from it. that's what I said to my ob's and they said that's what they do.

since I couldn't afford to store it I'd rather pay it forward ya know, it may help someone or help find a cure to something and that means more to me than storing it and possibly never needing it

Transgender children So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are your thoughts on the matter? Do u think the parents are behind this? Idk because I haven't met the parents or children. I just think at 5 it's very young for children to really understand. What do u ladies think?
