Only if she's under 10 years old Or over 65 it's kinda sweet. Otherwise NO unless it's his sister and he has called her sweetie her entire life. But for most part no.
My boyfriend use to have a girl he'd always call hun long before we started dating but they were close from childhood so she was like a sister to him until she wanted more while we were together and once he told her no she went psycho and he doesn't talk to her anymore. If he randomly started doing it now, I'd be mad and he'd be well aware of how I feel about it.
My husband has a few female friends he calls sweetheart, sweetie or babe. And he's done so long before I came into the picture. Doesn't bother me one bit...they're all in committed relationships and have been for years. Not something I worry about nor would I expect him to stop.
Wait, like as a nickname??? Unless it is his related family, no. My husband argues with me if I even show him a picture of a womanly i think is lovely, he will find something wrong with her Lol. he calls dresses beautiful and me beautiful and other nicknames, and his momma but no one else.
