Question for all the experienced mommies out there: I'm 18, 35w and 5d, and a FTM. I woke up to pee around 4:05 and have been having an almost consistent pain in my lower back on the right side. Along with menstrual like cramping in the front, that runs down my thigh on the right side. I'm also incredibly nauseous. The pains actually started yesterday but I wrote them off and went to sleep. Now they're worse and I'm getting worried. Is this normal???

Am I far enough along to be in labor? @tahtahme Everyone tells me that I'll "just know" and my water hasn't broken or anything.

Some people go in labor way way early...labor should feel like the worst cramps you've ever had. If you can't get them to go away, that's labor is what my Dr says. So maybe try a hot bath, a huge drink of water, lying on your left side etc. If it won't stop, then you might need to go to the Dr

No if it's in your back and abdominal region could be labor do not take a warm bath as it can make it worse. If positioning yourself differently or drinking a glass of water doesn't help then they are regular contractions(onset of labor) when in doubt get checked out. My friend was in labor and didn't even know until she went to get checked out I always tell new moms if it starts in your back and reach around front go in. So if I were you go in and get checked if the pain hasn't stopped with different positions and a glass of water

could be baby getting into position. not dropping. as he or she already probably did that but I mean positioning itself for birth, that can cause some constant cramping. like @bsb0093 said if nothing helps then it could be onset of early labor. but if it's not constant like nooooo breaks even for a minute then it's not labor yet. just your body preparing @destinyy_brinlee

@bsb0093, @jordanxavier10 I have an appointment at 1:30. It hasn't really stopped with changing positions or drinking water. I've even gotten up and moved around to see if that would help.

You should go to hospital or your dr just to be on the safe side, you can be in labor. That's how I was with my first child.

Crazy, a bath or hot shower always makes mine go away...Dr told me I was doing the right thing @bsb0093

Yeah but you want to try to see if it's Braxton hicks which should go away with a different position or drinking something which if it hasn't it could actually be labor and if it is a warm bath can further induce labor
