first if you took it that way that's on you @mommagotbump16 I grew up with doctors and nurses and live with one. I never once said anyone was a druggie. I said it's used for it, so take it how you want. I wasn't looking for an argument.... again all I said was research things but if you wanna take it as being judgmental than I'm sorry you took it that way. but again all I said was research it before you take it. again not arguing.....

@twinmamma2015, I did read it. You aren't hearing what you're saying. Saying "well it can be used to make ___ so if you're ok with using it go ahead" is judgmental. You're saying that taking a safe medication because it can be misused is harmful (you've very heavily implied that). That's being judgmental. I didn't give any attitude-I'm stating facts and that you are bringing an attitude of judgment here. I'm a nurse, I know plenty about meds and why they're tracked. They are NOT tracked because of people who use it appropriately, and no one should be made to feel like a druggie for using a safe med correctly. @lkaking exactly. Sorry to bring an argument but don't want anyone getting flack for taking meds that are ok.

@twinmamma2015, It's tracked because it can be used to MAKE meth. But it is not meth itself. There's also another type of Sudafed to use without pseudoephedrine in it. That was really judgmental and to imply the fda tracks it because it's a form of drug use is wrong. Anything can be misused or abused.

ok not saying you are @shelbyruth92 never once did I say anyone was all I said was the FDA tracks it, it's something that ppl use to make drugs and if you're comfortable with putting it in your babies developing body that's something a lot of women wouldn't use. just to research it more. that's all.

but I'm not a druggie so...I have no issues. I don't abuse meds and hate drugs with a passion.

yeah you should listen to your ob but again if it's something that is abused and the FDA keeps track and limits your purchase of that's not something I'm willing to risk putting in my body or my baby

Yeah my ob gave me a big list of meds because I used to take certain meds for my depression and asthma and motion sickness and stuff. I had to stop my anxiety med and my motion sickness meds. I also have issues with asthma and allergies and mine told me I can take Sudafed but not benadryl. I also take singular. she also said only take the Sudafed if absolutely needed. and my sister in laws baby is perfectly healthy and Sudafed was what she took when she was pregnant. every ob has different opinions and rules for their patients. it's always best to listen to your ob

Sudafed and Benadryl are both ok-both are Preg category B. DM meds are generally considered safe, but OB's prefer to make that call themselves @twinmamma2015 @shelbyruth92

sudafed can cause deformities in babies especially if you take it in the 1st trimester, if yoy have to sign something in order to purchase it then that's a risk your willing to take, not me. the FDA tracks those meds

@shelbyruth92, sudafed is in meth, I took benadryl and my boys were fine. there is a list of safe meds to take on WebMd.

I was told Sudafed is fine but benadryl is not. Neither is unisom. I used to take it before I got pregnant but my doctor told me to stop. my sister in law was always congested during her pregnancy and took Sudafed and her baby is fine.

OMG are you serious? some of those are so not good, I would recheck some of them. sudafed, and anything with D or DM is not good while prego hun
