So tonight my husband and I were fooling around, and he said something felt different on his fingers, he said he thought my "cervix popped open." So I checked my cervix for myself, and I'm definitely a cm dilated. Last night we had an incident where I fell and had to go to the hospital, and the preterm labor test (fetal fibronecton or something) came back negative just last night. I'm not sure if I should go in or not, I've read tons of stuff online where people say they're a cm at 30 weeks and still carry to term, but I still can't help but be a little uneasy. What do you guys think?

I was 2 centimeters dilated at 31 weeks, and now I'm 38 weeks and only 3 cm dilated. So you should be fine. If you start having contractions or anything else like that, then you would probably want to call or go in.
He said it felt wayyy different than yesterday, and when I put my fingers in to check there was an opening that had never been there before. I know that to really tell you need to be experienced, I'm just going by what I read on how to tell at home as someone with no medical training. When my husband and I first started trying for a baby, my doctor talked us through how to check your cervix to tell if you're ovulating, so I know what mine USUALLY feels like and I know there's an opening where there wasn't one before, and I can fit one finger inside it. But just last night the preterm test was negative so I don't want to panic and go in if i shouldn't worry, I just don't know if I should be worried or not
That's not so true cause when your 5cm at the hospital they don't put all 5 fingers inside you you have to be experienced and know what your doing to tell how many cm or if your even dilated and I'm 1 cm dilated and my boyfriend said it still feels the same @eev
I googled how to check your cervix at home, everything I read said to just put your fingers back until you can feel your cervix, and then feel for an opening that felt like puckered lips, and to count the cm you just go by how many fingers fit in the opening.
