I'm a ftm, so I'm totally unaware of how to react to liquid seeping for my breast. A few minutes ago while drying after the shower, my boob hurt so bad that I squeezesld it. With that came tiny dropplets of what I assume was breast milk.

My questions are: How do I cope with leaking breast? Will I need to buy nursing pads? What are the best brands? What about home remedies for better breast milk?

Eat Healthy For Better Milk.... and You will only need nursing pads if the milk leaks through your clothes.... @jamiegyaaaal

You will definitely have a period of your body trying to figure out how much milk your baby needs. During this time you will over produce and sometimes leak. I really like the cloth reusable breast pads and some women prefer disposable. I would get a few of each and try them out. There were some times I would wake up on my stomach and because of the pressure on my chest I would be totally soaked with milk. It's normal and it will even itself out with time

Your breast milk is not affected by what you eat, in fact women can fast for religious reasons or any reason and still make breast milk of the same quality as a women eating all healthy foods!!! It's good for you to eat healthy so YOU don't miss out on nutrients yourself, since it's taking it from you to produce the milk. Just feed baby on demand, whenever you see baby making hunger cues like hands in the mouth, smacking lips etc. feed the baby, and after a few weeks your supply will calm down to match your babies needs. You may feel "empty" when this happens but don't be afraid you're not making enough, this is normal and as long as baby is peeing at least 5 to 6 times a day or more, is content and gaining weight at check ups then you are producing PLENTY. Your baby also may cluster feed at times, which means baby will want to eat ALL THE TIME, but this is also normal and has nothing to do with supply! Just drink plenty of water, take care of yourself, and feed baby often at the breast, let her eat as much as she wants don't time it, and remember pumping does not indicate how much you're producing, because it doesn't stimulate the breast like the baby does, you may only get 2oz from pumping but the baby can get MUCH more! If you have any questions let me know, I love to help other moms with their breastfeeding journeys, and so far we're 5 months strong ourselves, not one bottle 😉 good luck and you got this mama!

I just saw that you're still pregnant....right now you're producing colostrum, it is just a little and mostly clear....for the first few days this is all your baby will need after birth, then 3 to 5 days or so after the birth your milk will "come in" and change from colostrum to milk, it will be yellowy at first then more white colored. You will feel like your boobs are hard as a rock lol but it will settle down, just keep feeding the baby often!

@hellosweetie, go head momma!!!!! I love how well you explained that to her!! 😊😊😊 but I would add that yes def stock up on nursing pads and maybe 1-2 nursing bras. no one ever told me my boobs would leak lol I still wear them today because my baby is still breastfeeding and it protects against my letdown @jamiegyaaaal

Thanks @momtonoasophia! I'm trynna help lol...I know how overwhelming it can seem to learn about breastfeeding to new mamas....and I enjoy helping when I can!!! And yes, haha...I did forget to mention the breast pads! I suggest getting the washable kind just because we spend too much on the disposable ones and I hate it lol but yes, that and a nursing bra! That way you can whip out one boob, and when the milk "lets down" (which is a muscle reflex that pushes the milk out, happens usually a couple minutes into a feed and every 5 to 10 mins during, also randomly lol), if you keep the other boob covered with a breast pad in the bra you won't leak EVERYWHERE lol...took me a few soaked shirts to get the hang of that one HAHA
