Why do you have to have your w2 to get them?

@hermommy, I just feel so wrong because my parents used to talk down so bad on the people who use govt aid. Like they were lazy or stupid. But my husband works 50+ hrs a week and I can barely get 15 hrs at my job. It sucks when you know you are working hard, but not getting anywhere.

@izzysmommy1003, using it as our proof of income instead of paystubs. Getting pay stubs for my husband's job is a mess. By the time they give them to you they are too far back for the agencies to accept.

same here my mom downed them alot, but my ob said I can't work and my fiance only makes 2-400 a week depending on what he works and with food, baby things, bills and rent it doesn't do us any good:/@gingyrex

Oh really. Well the wic, they just asked me about how much we made, we didn't have to show them anything.

@gingyrex, then no offense but your parents are ignorant and priveleged. those programs are there to help. there is no shame in needing help. we mostly all do. we are far from lazy. my husband and myself work our asses off and he got laid off and I'm high risk. we paid into it every year. its only fair we get to use it in our time of need. don't let anyone ever shame you for needing help.

@lakilucid, thats the weird part, my parents aren't wealthy. They both came from really poor families. I think they just feel that if they can make it, everybody should be able to. Just stubborn, ha. I see now that they were pretty lucky to get the jobs they did. Everybody needs help sometimes.

I get Medicaid, WIC, and Food Stamps for the time being. I'm a mom of three that just moved to NC with the attempt to give my kids a better loving, only to learn I can't put my trust in people who claim they will help you. My new baby was a surprise , and with being pregnant and high risk, I took a job working from home at 9 bucks an hour. I'm not lazy or stupid, just on hard times. Don't feel bad about having to get help to get settled dear. You have to so what you have to do to take care of your family.

they require proof here in Memphis too. but won't give me a damn thing. however i haven't downed people but i have downd the system. i worked all my adult years, paid my taxes, and now i need i cant get any

there are some people that do abuse the programs but they are out there to help people that work and do struggle. don't be ashamed for doing what you have to do to take care of your family.
