ask if you can celebrate on a different day that works better for both of you, I've done that many times.

@maybabyboy, we see each other Feb 11th we can celebrate after our appointment but he's being all pissy because he's never had a Valentine's date. in all honesty its just a hallmark holiday

Well, if it's important to him to have a valentine, you should celebrate with him out of respect for that. but he should also understand that sometimes you can't always celebrate ON the day, so maybe do something bigger than just dinner on the 11th. valentine's day can be fun, it's nice to have an excuse to be all lovey and sweet. just make sure you guys do something special and then he won't be too disappointed.

Agree with @maybabyboy @momma_2_batbaby sometimes you to do what you can and still have a grand time no matter in uniform or not.

@maybabyboy, but why should I be the one to travel so far and so late at night when I work so early in the morning and I don't sleep as it is so 4 hours of sleep, with an 8 hour work day is just nuts to me. when he doesn't have to be at work until 1pm on Monday. I told him we have all of the 11th to do something and its still not good enough. I just feel like I'm being forced to do something I really don't want to do

I didn't say you should go on the 14th :-) I said the 11th, and just make it a bigger day. tell him you want to do the 11th cause you want to be able to do more than just a quick dinner. make it seem special.

@momma_2_batbaby, have y'all thought about meeting halfway and maybe go to somewhere nice like a diner or whatever. If the 11th don't work and he being stubborn how about the 13th? Y'all go to s nice dinner after a walk in the park and perhap after dinner do something you both love and kiss when the clock struck midnight boom its Valentine's Day :)

he works 10-10 that Saturday I wish he'd just accept the 11th because I don't feel safe driving that late at night because my sugar drops are getting crazy. he said we'll do something the 11th but he's still pissed we can't do anything that sunday

@momma_2_batbaby, he stubborn that one but at least he accepted the 11th. He needs to understand your reasoning for not wanting to come so late and you got a good reason
