I'm not sure how I feel about books on how to parent. that's just how I am I came from a family who never relied on books or the Internet. well my mom n law bought us each a book at the beginning of my pregnancy. "what to expect when you're expecting" for me which isn't bad I just haven't been great on reading it. "what every father to be needs to know" for my husband who freaked out after chapter 3. well now she comes and tells us she bought us a book about how to get your kids to sleep and just goes through every step at every age to do different things. I'm okay with it but it bothers me that she keeps buying these books. okay I am the youngest well I was for 8yrs of my family. I have grown up around kids. my sister had her daughter when I was 8 and I've been babysitting and helping since then. I also took care of my nephew when he first came home to give my sister a break for a week. I know this isn't the same as having your own kid. but I am qualified to take care of a baby even a newborn baby. my husband on the other hand has never ever been around babies or young kids because he is the oldest and everyone is just stair steps down from him and we are the first to have a baby in his family. Idk if it's just my hormones getting the best of me or what. I just feel like she's telling us that she thinks we need help and can't raise a kid. obviously we need help but I want to ask for it first. I feel like she's going to be the grandma that tells me how to do everything or how she use to do stuff.
My son at 9 mths does sleep in his crib, it's just side car to our bed.
@ilyric, oh wow. hmm we might have to try that. she will definitely be sleeping in our room next to the bed but I'm scare to have her in bed with us. and I'm definitely all for holding them and carrying them. I don't see it as "spoiling" because babies need love
My baby boy has coslept since the day he was born and we are doing the attachment parenting and he had been my easiest baby so far!!
@ilyric, right? I'm definitely not for the cry it out method but that's just me. I mean if they wake up kinda cry for a minute or two but go back to sleep then okay. yeah she's worried that since my husband never slept as a baby or child or even now he doesn't sleep more than 5 hrs at a time that our baby will be the same.
@hermajestypenny I definitely believe "mothers instinct" is a thing it's almost like mom's have a super power. they just know.
There are things that new moms will learn it on their own, its called "mother's instinct "., even if you dont know anything about how to properly take care of your child, you will eventually learn how to do it on your own
when you mentioned the book on getting the child to sleep, i cringed... cause something tells me it it's encouraging the cry it out method or sleep training straight out of the womb. lol
There are a couple that I'm in Mommies of Mayhem and Mommy Chat Uncut.
okay thank you! yeah I feel like a book won't be the best. every single child is different and you just have to learn what works for them. @ilyric do you know the names of them?
Don't rely on books, if anything join mommy support groups!! There are several good ones on Facebook with very knowledgeable mommas!

Feeding my niece.....I can't tell you just how much I hate Dr. Brown's. I hate them with the passion. They leaked with my kids and this one just just leaked. Reminds me that I won't be using these this round! 😑😒

My August baby decided she wanted to be a May baby like her big sister. Madison Noelle was born on Tuesday, May 24 at 3:50pm, weighing 2lbs, 13oz and 14". She was born at 27 weeks and has a long road ahead of her. Every day she has been getting stronger and amazing everyone. Please keep us in your prayers, my family and I have a long road ahead of us. Congratulations to everyone and I wish you all wonderful pregnancies and deliveries! ??❤️
my baby daddy's ex wife works at the hospital I'm having my daughter she is just a cleaning lady she tell me they let her move the babies around I'm scared this women will take my baby she even tells me if I have my baby early she could see her ever day .. my doctor only delivers at this hospital I don't know what to do . this is why I don't want to have my baby early ..
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
is it weird?
Is it weird that my babysitter text me 7am on a Saturday to tell me she misses my baby? Lol I'm a ftm and I kind of thought it was weird and I don't know how to respond to that really...
@ilyric, just saw these pictures. omg he is such a cutie!! and that's really neat we will have to look into that
