awake till 2 or 3 am, can't sleep... but wake up out of a dead sleep at 530 every morning. and then again at 8 could this be when baby wakes up when it's outa the womb??? weird. any tips mama on how to sleep decent hours.

So I have issues sleeping and the new nurse came in woke me up to tell me they are switching when it clearly says not to wake me!!! Ugh

I’m so tired. 5 month old baby and wakes frequently. I get no sleep I’m constantly up checking if he’s ok through the monitor. In reality when do we mamas start sleeping? And babies when do they sleep?
So I’m getting mixed answers on this topic.. I learned at a baby class I took at the hospital that you need to get up and feed your baby every 2 1/2-3 hours. If they’re asleep you should wake them and feed them.. then I’ve heard from other people the exact opposite.. that you should sleep when they sleep and wake up to feed when they wake up.
What are you opinions on either option?
once baby is here, sleep is more distant! the key, if you can, is to sleep when baby sleeps!
