Alright guys this is gonna be a touchy subject for some... Me and my husband really like the name Desmond for our baby boy but we get terrible reactions from people when we say it and it bothers me so much. Every one says it's a black name, which just makes me mad because I don't believe in black and white names and some people have really racist comments to go along with it. Is it silly that this bothers me? And is it a terrible name but I just don't see it!?
Help!
Desmond means "Gracious Defender" I always go by the meaning. & that is a awesome meaning. Go with your heart @mrs.laureano
I love it and it doesn't stick to a color when I hear it people are so ignorant. If I were you I'd stick with it because there's a reason that name is sticking to you all to name your baby boy that
People are clueless it's your baby and his name for life do as you please no approval needed
were they there helping u making him?are they going to push him out?im sure u answered no to both of those so tell them to mind their business n u name ur baby whatever u want to name him...ppl make me sick with trying to name ppl kids or give their unwanted opinion on their name
Oh good grief! No way-I think it's lovely and almost regal sounding (to me). Why can't people just shut their traps?! (Except if you're naming your daughter after an std. Then speak up and save that girl!)
I like the name! and I totally understand, I get sooo mad when people try to throw their opinions at me about MY baby's name. So, name your son whatever YOU want, he is YOUR baby.
That's not a terrible name I actually like the name. I feel it's your baby you should name him whatever you want and no name has no color
I like the name Desmond 😊 & Ur Absolutely Right There Is No Such Thing As A White Name or A Black Name. That Just Shows Some Peoples Level Of Ignorance . Ignore Them , Name YOUR Baby WHATEVER you want . Eff Everybody Else 😍
who cares what other people think! it's your child, there not gonna be the ones giving birth to him or taking care of him. that's what I think :) I like that name btw
I think it's terrible that people make you feel bad for choosing a particular name. You have a right to be offended. Of course there are some names that are more common in different races but you and your husband have the right to name your baby whatever you want. The people in your life should accept it and not pass judgement. it's horrible that They are doing so.
you name your son whatever you want. their opinions don't matter. this whole black and white separation shit is getting way out of hand and it needs to stop. so you name him whatever and keep your head up. the next time someone has something negative to say about it, you tell them they can shove their opinion up their ass
