Any mamas here have a different religion than their SO? How are you deciding what religion your child will grow up with. I'm Catholic and my boyfriend is Buddhist.
Don’t get preachy on the internet if you can’t handle opposing views. Organized religion is a control mechanism. Organized religion has caused more wars and hatred than anything. The Bible belongs in the fiction section of the library.
Religion Conspiracy/Theory **This is not to bash peoples religion and beliefs but to talk about our own theories and ideas** I would like to discuss a certain topic that came to mind after talking to my SO. I know some of you ladies like a good conspiracy talk so i would like to have a good discussion and hear thoughts of others. So back story my SO friends got very offended when he mentioned not believing in god or religion and it got me thinking. Is religion a failing form of goverment control? Religion and goverment have been operating for a very very very long time and co existed together. So back before church and state were seperated the goverment and religious officals worked together create ideals that would be implemented into the lives of every person they can get a hold of and spread it from one person to another thus the population would act a certain way and follow everything the church had to say and those who opposed it with diffrent beliefs and religion would get killed. Once the people started questioning their actions they created the devils image to have people fear something greater and get their attention away from them. So they justify their "sins" by doing it in the name of god and since they are doing it for god then its ok because they are cleaning the world of evil. So to present day church and state is somewhat seperated now and less people are starting to not believe in god or any religion (including my SO and i) that promote fear to have people act a certain way or they will suffer for all eternity. So back to the question do you think its possible that religion is starting to be a failing form of goverment control?
Religion question Ok this may not make sense and be long but I've not said it out loud I've just thought about this..
DH Different religion Do you and your SO practice the same religion? I grew up Mormon (a branch of Christianity) and my husband grew up without a specific religion. I don't practice the Mormon faith anymore and my husband been has following the Norse religion (Odinism) since he was a teen. Our religious differences don't often cross over and we've already discussed how we want to handle the topic with our children. However, whenever I talk about my DH to friends/family their first question is "well is he Mormon?" When I tell them no they ask "well how does that work?". Um it works just fine. Do you every run into situations like this?

Yes and no. My bf and I are both Christians but our views are SO completely different it's crazy.
we've decided to tell our son both of our beliefs and explain to him about it and why we believe the way we do and let him choose his own path.

I been having this same issue with my hubby. I'm Christian and he's Rastafarian.... sometimes we agree and sometimes we don't. I try to find a median but he soooooo stubborn it pisses me off. needless to say I haven't found that balance

@chhaya, @_supermommie2173 I don't mind raising her Buddhist but i want her to decide on her own when she's old enough her own religion. in don't want her to feel forced

@mommytomia, that's what we are going to do. I'm just going to answer any questions he has. If he asks me about another religion I'm going to tell him about it. He will know what mom and dad believe but I won't force him either.

im gonna have this issue! my husband is muslim & im christian! im in the same mindset as you.. id like her to decide & not feel forced!!
