Okay, so I read a lot on pregnancy and the changes that my body makes as well as the baby. From what I read and my symptoms, I really feel like I'm further along than what the doctors originally thought. I have an appointment next week, but I could really use a second opinion.
They are going off of my last "period" which wasn't a real period. I spotted a very tiny bit for 1 day. And that was in July. My last real period was in June. Also, I have read that the baby can't feel temperature until 32 weeks; and she is already reacting to heating pads and ice. They say I am only 28 weeks, 29 on Friday. I can't sleep. I'm constantly uncomfortable. She is dropped and all of her weight is on my pelvis. I can barely even walk lol. I didn't think this stuff happened until later on (if I'm just 28 weeks). Some input please?
@alainaharris415, A mother's (or mother-to-be) instinct is very strong, just pay attention and try to stay in tune with your body and baby. Maybe write down the symptoms you have and present them at your next OB appointment, I've had to do so a couple times. I'm 35 weeks and last week I was having A LOT of Braxton's and was at work, and 'something' told me to go get seen, turns out I was dehydrated and might have a yeast infection, which they said is common during pregnancy. ... So yes, if you feel a certain way then don't be afraid to put your foot down and ask questions! You're having the child, not them. :) hope this helped a little abd good luck!
never mind, I just saw next week. lol.
I would call your ob today and voice your concerns and see what they say.
well at least they everything looks good (me trying to find some sort of silver lining to this ugh). when's your next appt ?
@mylittleprincess, I haven't ever gotten anything from them. just "you're good" or "everything's fine." I'm just so frustrated.
my doctor talks to.me for about 15 minutes about everything. and I get a packet of paper when I leave. and resources online posted to my account.
that's insane. they need to tell you those things. I have a friend who has an ob like that. and its definitely frustrating. you.shouldn't have to ask in order to know. I'm mad for you. do you by chance have your ultrasound picture from 20 weeks ?
@mylittleprincess, @firstbaby_girl, honestly, I am so mad right now! Why don't they explain anything to me. Anything at all. Every time I go to the Dr Office I'm in the room for 3-5 minutes, tells me her heart rate, and then he says "you're good" and I leave. They have measured me from the outside one time altogether. Never told me what any other measurements are. I'm so frustrated because I already have this doctor paid off, but I feel like these are things I need to know!
not a lot can be said for symptoms and such, as every baby/body is different. but if you need the peace of mind. definitely get on them about it.do you have any more incoming ultrasounds by chance ?
Go to a different doctors office and see what they think the measurements are
I also get all this information (including the literal ultrasound summary ) on my online acct after my appts. and they explain it all to me. I'd definitely ask them about it !!
that's weird! Google is so not a pregnant lady's friend lol.
starting at 20 weeks, at every appt , they should be measuring fundal height to make sure everything's growing right without an ultrasound. its the height from the top to bottom of your uterus. which should match your week of pregnancy up to or below 3 weeks (so if 28 weeks you should be measuring between 25-31). at the anatomy ultrasound (where the point is to find out how far along baby is measuring!) they should have said what the baby was measuring. for example at my anatomy scan part 2 I was 23w3d and she was measuring 23w1d and in the 51st percentile.
@mylittleprincess, the same hospital I go to was also a whole month off on one of my friends when she was pregnant and didn't tell her until 2 weeks before the new due date.
@mylittleprincess, I honestly have no idea. See, this is why I'm so frustrated with my Dr. Office. They don't ever tell me anything besides "you're good" or "everything's normal." I've honestly never even heard anything about the percentile, measurements, and never even heard the term fundal height. It's my first pregnancy, so I don't really know what to expect or what's going on at all. The only way I ever know anything about my baby is if I look it up online and read about it.
the only way to really tell baby's age is ultrasound. which gets more inaccurate the closer you get to your due date.
also, my baby has been in my pelvis since I started feeling her. could just be how yours is sitting.
@alainaharris415, no problem girl! Us Mommies have to stick together!
