Should I go with a midwife or an OBGYN? I'm confused on the whole thing. What's the difference?

My grandma and mom are both registered midwives so that is what I am going with.
My grandma delivered all of my siblings and their kids so she is flying out here (from OR to OK) for the month before and after my due date.

yeah thats you.. my obgyn is in the hospital... she told me their policy is to at minimum birth their patients first.. after that its who is on call.. why we keep in constant contact with each other.. and she gave me her personal numbers.. but we dont have midwives.. not that i know if.. just doctors. i told her i dont plan on getting familiar with the ther people in that office.. @tlokitabella91
sometimes things happen , just like my midwife I have different ones just in case one doesn't show. but I was the same way with my first midwife. that's the only difference they try to get you familiar with everybody. and I said the same thing lol but youre gonna want that baby out no matter what @lilfree16

why wouldnt she show ? she plans to be there for her patients but they dont call her... i plan on calling her.. no one in that hospital is touching me.. ill stay at home... its 3 other doctors in the practice... but they arent touching me..
I had a midwife with this pregnancy and I hated it, she would never be full on clear with my blood results. She was more worried about me seeking out classes for pregnant moms etc. I finally switched back to an obgyn and found out I had a severe UTI and when he looked over my records she said that I came tested back with it but didn't inform me. never again will I go with a midwife, I hope other people have better luck.
my obgyn office only offers midwives every place is different @lilfree16 and I have several midwives. having one doctor would suck because if you go into labor and they don't show what other choice do you have.

Doctors can be on call too, I love my doctor. Yes midwives are nurses and they do know what they are doing buttttt.. a OBGYN is a doctor.. so that is the difference. They have more experience than a midwife in my opinion n

I started with a midwife and I planned giving birth at the hospital and all that good stuff you do with an obgyn she was absolutely amazing but my blood pressure was on the edge of acceptable so I go to the obgyn that works in the same building as her and he's just as amazing. my birth plan hasn't changed in the least bit and he's just as helpful and amazing as she is so I think it completely depends on the hospital and the midwife or doctor.

I agree with @tlokitabella91 I like my midwife because I can call her anytime about any of the pain or pregnancy related things that go on

Pretty much only difference is a midwife can't do a csection and a obgyn can :)
I have a midwife and she does everything an OB does.what people don't understand is a doctor will always be on site when things go wrong if you have a midwife or not.personally a midwife is way more attentive and affectionate in my opinion. they're nurses as well. I have several midwives btw

Me and my grandmother had this talk, if you're deciding I would recommend a obgyn. They are 110% trained for if anything goes wrong, they can get it done ASAP. Midwife is more of a "through the pregnancy at home" type of thing.

a midwife is a person is there with you thru your pregnancy and an OBGYN is a doctor
