My labor story: On Monday, October 12th at 1pm I entered the hospital for contractions and pain. I was 40 weeks 6 days. I was being induced Tuesday, October 13th at 6am, but since I was contracting I thought I'd beat the induction. Went to the hospital and I was monitor for an hour, then put on an IV to see if it was just false labor. Although it never stopped. They admitted me at 2:30pm and started the induction at 3pm. I went from 1cm to 3cm in 4 hours starting to feel the pain, but no more progress so they broke my water. An hour later I felt the pain full forced. I had pain medication through an IV at 10pm and it helped for 3 hours, (was extremely high) then at 1am I was 3 and a half cm. They waited for 2 hours to see if I'd make any progress and never did. I got my second IV medication and slept for an hour. At 4am it wore off quick and the pain got unbearable, so I asked for an epidural even though I didn't want one. I got poked 5 times in the back because the guy said "he couldn't find my spine". After he finally got it in, I half of my body was numb the other half wasn't, they sent a new doctor in to do it again. After he done it the correct way I was in relief. Slept like a baby. At 10am I was woken up with extreme back pain, so they thought the epidural was wearing off, so they gave me a stronger dose but didn't seem to work. At 10am they put me on my hands and knees to find relief, I slept in that position for 2 and a half hours. Then I got checked for dilation at 12:30pm and I was 10cm, but my cervix was still a little thick to push her out. they waited until 12:45 to check again. At 1pm they got me ready to push. It was long a long hour, but at 2:06pm on October 13th, Lakota Little-Bear Johnson was born. And that's my labor story.
