ugh my MIL keeps telling me to give my little one a little bit of water and I keep telling her I heard its not good when they are this young. am I right?
Remember it's your baby, do what you think is best, and don't listen to other people . You are right , and the baby doesn't need water nutrition , because there is enough in their formula .
You're correct @phoenixsmommy_2016, they don't need ANYTHING but formula or breastmilk the first 6 months of life. and I mean anything. :) Giving water too early can cause water intoxication which can be fatal
I always gave my daughter a little bit of water once in a while and shes doing fine shes now a healthy 3 yr old but everyone has different opinions 😊
I was told no water until 1. I've heard the term water intoxication a lot also.
it's not going to hurt them to have water I've been giving my son water since he was an infant and he loves water. my pediatrician said it was fine too. water isn't going to hurt them we drink water, it's just hydrates them like it does us.
no not water until they are at least 6 months and even then they really don't need water. there's no nutritional benifits in water for infants
You are absolutely right! They shouldn't have it until they're a year old, that have no need for it and it can cause a lot of problems if given too much!
You aren't supposed to give any water at all before 6 months. Then it's very limited as to the amount you can give them. My grandparents are the same way "Well when I had your dad" I'm sorry but that was 40 years ago. I try not to be rude but really a lot changes.
