ladies, so I'm having another csection and I was wondering if once i hit the 37weeks to ask my doc to just let me have my baby or should I just wait?
I'm 27weeks right now!!
@jjordan86, ok. And like I said, glad you did. Side note, babies need that extra fat for temp regulation after birth, especially given the weight loss they're facing. Just curious why an OB would say that is all. I'm an RN too.
That's not the case for every baby, that's why I advised her to talk to her doctor. I think I've been a RN long enough to know. @mommagotbump16
@jjordan86, it's good that you had that discussion with your doc, but that is not accurate-there is still lung development that isn't complete til after 38 weeks (surfactant creation). Baby's have better outcomes the longer they stay in, barring complications from iugr etc.
My doctor and I had the discussion. my baby is will be full term just sitting in there putting on fat. Talk with your doctor and see what they suggest. it's not being selfish @1130nnne
is it? I don't wanna be selfish and have him soon but I mean if I'm having a csection and I know its safe why not do it at 37weeks @jjordan86
a 5lb baby can regulate body temp just fine. Most doctors make mommies go to full term because insurance companies don't like to pay for what they consider preterm babies because if they have to go to nicu, it's 8000 a day. it's cheaper to keep the woman pregnant. I am very educated and I know what doctors won't tell you. I work both the medical side and the billing side. @mommagotbump16
