So I went to the doctors for my baby today nd they are telling me he's too big!!! He will be 3 months old on the 10th!! He is 14 Lbs 12 oz he was born 7Lbs 10 oz. It wasn't his normal doctor tho...his usual doctor knows that he eats 5-6 oz nd said it was fine but now they are telling me to take him down to 3oz!!!! Idk what to do he freaks out when I stop feeding him at 3....I feel sooooo bad!!!!!

don't feed him less. my son is 16 lbs and his 3 months. feed him what he can eat
My son was 18lbs at his 4 month check up & they said nothing about him being too big. & they told me to start him on cereal soon. I can't believe they told you to feed him less. That's so cruel
@kaidenwaynesmomma, when I took Lincoln to the Dr at 3 months he was 14lbs 6oz so they are very close in size. He was 8lbs 5 oz at birth so has almost double his birth weight. I started feeding solids at 3 1/2 months he was so interested in watching us eat and he does great with a spoon he loves his food definitely not a messy eater. I did 1/2 jar of fruit mixed with some cereal once a day for the last month and just started trying the veggies this week.
at 4 months old my boy was eating 6 to 8 ounces every 4 hours. it just made him grow more. every baby is different though. you're the mommy you do what you feel is right for him.

@mommyof3boys2015, that makes me feel better cuz he almost 3 months so seems to be on the same track as ur son.
My son turned 4 months on the 10th and he just had his check up yesterday and is 15 lbs 10 oz they said he is average size for a 4 month old. He eats a 6oz bottle and a half a jar of fruit for breakfast and a 6oz bottle and half jar of veggies for dinner all other bottles he drinks 8oz. He sleeps through the night 11-12 hours straight.
@kaidenwaynesmomma, well honestly as well, I didn't start Givin my daughter more then 4oz until she about 4 months then it was 6 now it's 8. I gave her a pacifier after she ate to let her brain catch up to her stomach. if she was still hungry after about a half hour I gave her 2 more. most time she was full just didn't know it

@mommagotbump16, yeah he will be 3 months on the 10th nd has already basically doubled his birth weight... I don't see why they are making it a big deal tho!!! He has been going to my doctor which is just a family doctor so Monday I'm calling a pediatrician to get him in there. My normal doctor has never said anything about how much he eats besides that if he's hungry feed him but this new lady is acting like he's gonna die or something if he eats 5-6 oz every 3 hours.

@kaidenwaynesmomma, ugh, sorry girl! That's crazy though. My son had almost doubled his birth weight by 4 months (he was just shy of 15 lb I think), and no one said a word! He's just growing 😉
@kaidenwaynesmomma, my baby girl was 10.3 when she was born and she is 14.2 at her 2 month she'll be 3 months on the 9th......so he is right on track to me feed your baby he knows when he is hungry
@capri2015, okay that makes me feel a lot better!!! Is he still eating every 3 hours? Mine is every 3 hours except at night.
@babygluttony, that's what everyone else is telling me except the doctor!! Everyone said I should be thankful he sleeps that much. He's been doing it since he was less than a month old!!

@capri2015, thank u that's what I said I feel like I'm starving him...he's so used to 5-6 oz. They also told me since he sleeps 9-10 hours straight at night I need to wake him up to feed him 😒 How much does your baby eat?
my roommates baby is about that at 4 months old and eats 4-6 ounces and 2 ounces of baby food at a time. don't deny your baby food.
my son was 7lbs even and 4 weeks early. he had to stay in the nicu for a week. my son eats 6 to 8 oz every 3 to 4 hrs.
