My sons second birthday is coming up in April and I can't decide if I want to throw him a birthday party with friends and family or if I should take him somewhere special like an aquarium and have a mini celebration with the family I live with.

Due date How likely are you to actually give birth on your due date, especially with your first kid? I don't want him to come on his exact due date because I don't want him to share a birthday with a certain someone.
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer. My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk outside without this information. Children of color are being targeted and killed too. It’s not just adults. I let my son know we treat everyone equally and with respect. I let him know that we love everyone for their differences. In every aspect. Color, race, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference we love everyone.
Honest opinion am I overreacting....so my mother in law and sister in law didn't call my son on his birthday on Wednesday. Yet they knew it was his 2nd birthday. I was so upset and hurt because we've lived with them so I considered them like my actual family. My mom threw a surprise party for my son that night it was literally only my sister,brother,mom and aunt and one of my friends and of course us. Well my mom decided to go fb live with us singing happy birthday. My mother in law comments that why didn't we tell her anything so I tell my mom if she really cared she would've called him to say something.Even family members that I don't talk to often messaged him a video singing to him! So the next day I receive a message from my sister in law asking me why I didn't invite them. I then explained that either of them called to tell him anything. So then she was like well you could've still invited us and then I explained that it wasn't my right to do anything since it was my brother sister and mother throwing it for him! So then I told her that they were more than welcome to throw him anything if they truly wanted to needles to say they were mad because they weren't invited to my son's surprise party. And I apparently should've told them to call my son super frustrating. Well I'm so glad my family loves my son and spoils him they do everything for him so I am truly blessed. Just gets me upset because birthdays are a big deal in my family.

For my sons first birthday we did it big with family on both sides plus friends,it was fun but then again he won't remember or enjoy it as much..now with his second birthday coming up I was thinking of something small...I think your lil one would enjoy the aquarium! We took my son about 4 months ago and he loved it especially the lorikeet forest

I think maybe that's what I should do. I'll talk to his Dad about ! My son LOVES animals, I can see my future house as a petting zoo. 😂
