So I have a lot of illnesses and it scares me to think I won't have kids, but it also scares me to think I might share my illnesses with them. My boyfriend and I tried for 4 months but if I'm not pregnant in a week, (that's when my period will either show or not show) that I will put on my birth control patch back on and stop trying. I don't know what to do. I'm so conflicted.

it can take up to a full year for a healthy woman to get pregnant. don't give up so easy if having a baby is what you guys want. I also have some mental illnesses and I know that means my baby's at risk for them but I also know how to manage them now and I know how to spot signs and get him treatment if he does have them instead of letting them go like my family did. Stay positive. Everything works out how it's meant to in the end even if it doesn't feel like it.
I think I'm just more afraid of them having all of my health problems.
Four months isn't that long to try...give it time.
definitely keep trying. it may happen next month. took me 5 months after the depo shot to get pregnant. now we're having twins. after my husband was told a few years back, after having our first he had low t. and they couldnt understand how we conceived our son. but I knew they were wrong. and I always believed in that 1% chance. you never know what the future holds. if you really want a baby, give it sometime and keep trying. but enjoy yourself as well. have sex when you want to. don't make it a chore, that's when its hard to get pregnant. if your drink, go out with your man, have fun and get frisky. just enjoy this time. let your body be free of all those BC hormones. it definitely felt great to finally be off birth control for me.
I got pregnant with my first kid, two months after stopping the pill. depo shot usually takes woman way longer. it was surprising how fast I got pregnant. didn't think it was gonna happen.
