on your mouth no but don't kiss the baby with an active cold sore or the weeks following it being healed.. that virus can kill you baby

No. You just shouldn't touch it and touch anywhere else and I wouldn't share drinks, silverware or kiss anyone else until it's gone.

@stacydoffin, sorry about that last post.. that virus won't cross the placenta, I believe as long as it's not genital you should be fine..

@stacydoffin, since you have it, your baby is automatically going to have the virus. That doesn't mean it'll break out with your child. My daughter didn't have one yet, hopefully she'll never get one
