Ok, mommas and soon to be mommas, I freaked myself out really bad today reading other women's natural birth plans online. How many of you have a birth plan and how completely necessary is it to have one.? Cause I know what I want and I feel like I'm gonna just roll with it and not shove a to-do list at a doctor when I'm pretty sure they should know what they are doing and they should ask your consent prior to anything life altering. Am I right.?
birth plans, in my opinion, are unnecessary. And nothing is 100%. They have to ask before doing anything, so they just aren't worth it as long as you know ow what you want.
that's good that the hospital does all that ! these days they only seem to care about cleaning up and doing their tasks so they can move on to the next room. I wish they cared more about the moms and how they want it to go ! good luck with everything (:
@mamabearluken, The hospital I'm going to does all of that already and I already told my midwives that I don't want an epidural. So this is good. Thank you.!
I personally think it's important to know what you want and to let them know things you do not want. I wouldn't say I have a full On plan but I do know that I do not want an epidural. I do not want to be induced (unless it's an emergency and they have to get the baby out) and I want the first hour after birth to be alone time for my family. I want the baby placed immediately on my belly and to breast feed when he's ready rather than them clean him and do all their stuff first. just know what you want and what you don't want , that's my advice (:
@justine212, I appreciate that very much.! Thank you.! @mamabearluken, that's exactly why I chose that hospital, plus their birthing center is on a separate, secured level of the hospital. And they have ambiance ceilings, jacuzzis, allow oil diffusers and allow all kinds of things. Like walking the hall while in labor and such.
