awe it's all exciting, you get to be centre of attention until the baby arrives 😜 it's definitely a one off experience, I don't think any two labours are the same.. (I'll soon find out 😂).. I'm not even planning this labour/birth plan at all this time.. Another go with the flow because I may handle gas and air (without throwing up this time) and have a very good labour.. But I think that's the best advice I could ever give anyone, because when you've never done it before you don't know how you'll cope/handle it and a lot of the time find your plans have gone out the window and you're left disappointed that it didn't go the way you want.. I wouldn't say the epidural is ideal for after birth but it's amazing during 😂 oh and definitely get your partner to film and take pictures! I love watching back my birthing video.. I was so high I forgot he was even filming, midwives were amazing! And they even took our first family photo together too :) @briony1994 xx

Oh I had my baby almost 2 weeks ago. just haven't updated this app haha. They examined me at about 6 and I was 2cm. at about 6:30 I said I needed to push and was telling them for two hours. And 8:30 I started pouring blood so they examined me and yep sure enough her head was almost out. She was born at 8;39 x

Well I take my hat off to you for managing it! Tbh, I was a crazy lady in labour too.. Can't believe they didn't believe you? Didn't they examine you when you went in? They did with me, I was 3cm and then I went straight into a private room to wait until I was in "established" labour and within 5 mins my waters popped and my OH was outside shouting for someone to come get me 😂 after only 5 mins before saying I wasn't ready they soon realised I was defo ready! 😂 lets hope they believe you this time round! @tuftyturtle

Oh @emmajo I wasn't being brave 😂 they just didn't believe me that I was in labour so I had no choice. I was begging for at least gas and air and they were just acting like I was a crazy lady 😂

Aww thanks hunni! I'm so scared about it all but excited at the same time, it's such a surreal experience and there's so much to think about and do and plan it's scary and were in the process of moving lol @emmajo

Bless you! It's an experience and a half no matter what you do/don't decide on. The way I saw it though was I had never experienced it before and didn't know how I'd cope if I could at all lol we all handle things differently.. Like above she's done labour on just paracetamol (brave girl in my eyes) where as I felt I needed the epidural after doing 6cm with nothing working lol.. Either way I hope it goes all smoothly for you 😘 xx

I would like to give a water birth a go, the midwife said as I'm low risk I can go to the rooms with the 'twinkly lights ' which is right up my street, I'd also like hubs to guide baby out and be the first to hold him/her but these are all 'would likes' as you never know! would prefer not to have an epidural because I am really frightened of needles but I may change my mind on the big day! x

I had my little girl with just gas and air and now I'm considering a home birth with this one if all goes to plan

with my first I just had lots of gas and air. and with my second I had two paracetamol. They told me that I wasn't in labour and was over reacting and I literally thought...jesus it wasn't this painful last time, if I'm not in established labour then I'm really not going to cope and was considering the epidural even though I've always said I would never get one. turned out they was wrong and I had been needing to push for almost two hours. She was born less than 10 minutes after being told that I was over reacting 😂 your body can cope with the pain, it's designed too.

Mine was a go with the flow with my son.. I sat and questioned epidural and water birth and ideally I wanted a water birth with just gas and air.. When it comes to labour you really don't know how you're gunna feel/cope.. At first I was adamant I didn't want the epidural.. In the end I had no choice because no other drug they gave me would even take the edge off.. You could end up not needing anything or needing everything.. I'm pregnant with my second (only gave birth a year ago) and I'm already doing a go with the flow.. Gunna try again with barely anything but I know I have back up if I need it lol.. Never underestimate how you can cope either.. Our bodies are built for this 😘

Aww ! Well ill take any medication but i do have a high pain threshold ive had dislcoated limbs poped back without any meds so as you can prob guess that im not a medication person 🙈 but if i need it ill take it if you know what i mean . Im not going to force myself to have a bad experience just to be able to say i done it without anything 🙈

My plan was give me every pain killer you can and get it out healthy...now I'm contemplating a water birth haha @b.margyte
