Just be careful to not let the cat crawl in the baby's crib or bassinet . In our sids class they showed us a sweet cat trying to protect baby but fell asleep on baby's face and the poor baby suffocated I know that's a ridiculous one in a million chance story but it's like scarred me for life :/
Oh yes I heard all about that, the cat defiantly won't be allowed in the room where the baby is or without supervision I just hope she don't start peeing on crap and acting out like I heard they do before the baby comes @babybermea @icie88
I had cats my whole life and my sister had them around her babies. we have always favored male cats also and never had issues. the whole cats steal their breath is an old wives tale yes they can smother them if they are allowed to cosleep. but introduce slowly and carefully. some cats can get territorial I just know my experiences were not negative
my cats seemed to want to be very close to me and my belly. they seem to meow even more. it feels like their attached to you. definitely kneeding alot at the blankets lol
when your babies start crawling alot, watch out for those cat claws. neither one of them know better. cat gets scared. baby wants to play. that happened with my first cat. my second one, was my father in laws. and the cat is declawed. only thing that cat does is hit. and hits my 4 year old every time he walks by.lol
@naerae54, of course. I felt that way too. you just have to watch them together. it when the baby starts crawling all over the house and grabbing the cats tail. some cats don't like that. so maybe tell the baby no no. I don't think they understand that yet. but its worth a try.

most cats can adjust to the baby & even be protective over them but some will turn against them
