So in 2014 I was finally diagnosed with a syndrome on why I was having multiple seizures a week even in a day after years of battling it. It's called Postural Orthostatic tachycardiac syndrome, it's due to an electrolyte deficiency that makes my fight or flight adrenaline system stay active 24/7 (it's the thing that kicks in when you feel like you're gonna die when you miss a step on the stairs lol) and when extra adrenaline from basically anything gets added to the already high adrenaline rush I always have my body isn't able to take it making my body shut down and seize. So with all of that back round information will I be able to go through labor, or do you guys think it will be too much stress and send me into a seizure? I was wanting to go natural but thinking about it I guess I'll need to go with an epidural. . guys please help with a little guidance.. I don't want to get an epidural and still have it be too much stress and need a C section:/

It sounds like it might be a lot for your body to handle with out giving you seizures. I'd for sure talk to your obgyn and see what they think would be the best and safest for you and baby. I know how disappointing it is to not get the birth you wanted but safety is most important! I hope your Dr says you can safely deliver naturally

it sounds like you need to make a sound education decision with your doctor to be honest.. I don't know much about your condition, but if stress causes the seizures a c-section might be the safest way to go.... they usually do a spinal for c-section and that's when they inject the medication and pull everything out the epidural there is something left there I'd be concerned with if you had a seizure and pulled that out or damaged something internally from it

I have POTS too but not with seizures. I black out from a high heart rate and low blood pressure. I'm also very worried that I won't be able to give birth naturally like I want to and my ob doesn't know enough about it to give me any definitive answer if I'll be able to or not.

Birth Plan Rant I used to be all about getting an epidural, but after research and thinking about it more I want to have an unmedicated birth (this is my first baby). What annoys me is when I say that I'm going to TRY my hardest to have a natural and unmedicated birth people always feel the need to say that I'm crazy or that I'm going to change my mind when I get in that position. Or that epidurals are the best. I do realize that plans change, but why can't people be supportive and encouraging?
