looking for opinion here...

when in the hospital a nurse told me that once you give a baby formula, it changes their stomach so they can't digest breast milk the same...yet everything else I've read says it's perfectly safe to supplement some formula in with breastfeeding so your boobs can get a break. I don't want to strictly put her on formula, but I'd like to add some formula to babygirl's diet. I'm just wondering if that's safe? there's a section in my breast pump booklet from Medela about how you can mix them both in the same bottle even, so I would think it's fine...Was the nurse just trying to push breastfeeding on me?

it's okay to supplement, I have a friend who does because her child wasn't gaining enough weight. she was probably trying to get you to breast feed exclusively

OT. WIC and formula help please We recieve WIC, and right now im breastfeeding, but Aleeyah has been refusing the breast for a week now. I didn't supplement for a couple of days thinking it was just a phase.. but those 2 days she nursed like twice and then only had solid food. so I started supplementing with formula. she gets 3-4 feedings from the breast and 3-4 of formula.

calling all mommies who are breast feeding or excessively pumping .. how did you all do it ?? I know some people pump right in the hospital day 1 !! I know my hospitals here allows you to pump from day 1 and breast feed at the same time they just give you a breast consultant to explain and show you how so you don’t mess up and get a over supply to soon . Some people only breast feed for awhile than pump 1/2 later . Some only pump period ... what’s your method and how successful are you ?? And how tough was it in the beginning ??
