That's why I said baby lol @alauraandabdielsmom usually in boosters they're around 6.
@aneely13, *some* booster seats allow use till the top of the ears hit the seat but no rear facing seat or combination seat allows it
@lilfree16, That is not correct for rear facing seats and combination seats (rear facing and forward facing seats), there are *some* booster seats that allow it though. each seat has its on specific set of rules in the manual that have the limits listed on when to stop using the seats.
A babies head should never be over the car seat! Shouldn't be anymore than 1 inch to it or it's time to switch seats for a bigger one!
4! That's when the bones are actually fused together and a lot safer to forward face! They make car seats that extend in height so you can forward face longer!
@candlewash24, Yes 2 is the minimum safest age to turn them forward, closer to 4 is better! my best advice is to max out the rear facing limits on your car seat, most rear face to 40 pounds and get most children anywhere from 3 to 4 years old!
Yes, that's the recommendation from the AAP, most places are telling everyone that. I live in GA, the law is still 1 years old.
Regardless of the LAW the america academy of pediatrics is right by saying that 2 is the minimum to foward face, the closer the 4 the safer because their spine is more mature
@waffles2016, @mdg8829 Actually, the only two states with that law currently are OK and NJ. CA Is making it a law in 2017, other states are working on a bill to follow in the foot steps
@alauraandabdielsmom, sorry I was making dinner!!!! But looks like you got this handled!! Minimum safest age is 2, ideally though it's when a child reaches the maximum rear facing weight limit or height limit. :) weight limit is normally 40 lbs for most standard convertible car seats. Graco however just came out with one with a 50lb limit.
