Okay, so I have a question...
I have chosen to bottle feed my baby for many reasons and I was just wondering what I do for that first feed in hospital? Do all midwives expect you to breastfeed at first? Do I take formula with me and some bottles and make up the babies first feed in the hospital? I really don't know what to do!
Just curious who breastfed & who bottle fed :) I’m going to bottle feed even though I have been told endless of times breast is best! But wondering what’s popular, what do you all prefer? :) xx

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?
My baby is still on the size bottles that you get in hospital because the tete on the tommee tippee bottles (and any other bottle) is too big for her... but i think I need to get her on the normal bottles now but is she still to small? She’s just over 6 pounds 🤔... Or what is everyone else using to bottle feed baby at about that weight ?
I have what may be a stupid question.. When bottle feeding do you have to warm the formula or can you give it to them cold or room temperature??

some hospital will provide your milk. around my area they don't so most brands sell the starter packs which have premade milk and sterilised teats in xx

You Can buy packs of pre made bottle with sterilised sealed tops (make sure you check the pack not all have the teats). Hospitals don't usually have the facilities for you to sterilise your bottle etc x

What @laa286 said. I am going to sterilise my bottles and take in some pre made milk for my baby. I would rather take my own bottles instead of the teats because I want baby to get used to the teats I intend to use, some babies are very fussy about changing teats x

They might do but it's your baby so up to you, don't get into the conversation with them. I'm aiming to bf straight after she arrives so she gets all the colostrum then pump / formula there after. I've got a pack of the starter ones in case that doesnt pan out

I'm planning to breast feed :) No, they won't expect you to breast feed unless you say you are etc. If for ever reason my baby doesn't thrive on breast milk...some don't. I will be using formula. Personally I don't think it matters if you are doing breast or formula...the baby is still getting fed at the end of the day :) that's all that should matter x x x

check with your hospital. Some provide pre made milk in bottles and others expect you to take it. You will need to ask your midwife x

Yeah as @tuftyturtle said, not all hospitals are the same. I don't think my hospital supplies that stuff so I'm taking my own stuff in. X

it depends on the hospitals policies, mine has stopped providing the pre-made bottles now because they are trying to encourage breastfeeding so if you want to bottle feed then you have to provide it yourself. they have told me that the only way that you can get milk and bottles supplied by them is if your baby has specialist requirements and cannot be breastfed for whatever reasons, but there has to be something really wrong. they gave me all this information at my first midwife appointment which I was surprised about because when I had my first baby they always let you decide what you wanted to do and we're happy to supply you with whichever milk you wanted for your baby, it doesn't affect me as I've always breastfed and felt it was best bug I thought it was a bit harsh on the mothers that can't or don't want to as it kind of forces their hand, unless they can provide their own of course.
so i'd say speak to your modwife and find out what their policies are, hope this helps xx

*but not bug lol...BTW mothercare do pre-made and sterilised bottles of SMA I think there's like 13 in the box that comes with the teats, my friend bought that for her baby and then poured it into the bottles she intended to use as she wanted baby to get used to those specific bottles, her husband also brought her bottle warmer to the hospital as well and made sure that they had everything they needed as the hospital wouldn't provide it due to their policy x
