I have a serious question for my first time mommies on here that have a step child(ren)...:
if they are really clingy to you and your love and adore it but you're not really feeling it (because of your pregnancy) how do you explain to them what you're going through and how do you let them know that you still love them so much?
my boyfriend came to me and said I seemed to be a bit stand offish and even a bit cold towards his son and I was trying to explain that right now, being so far along, that I really prefer to be away from the extra affection because his son's affection is rough and I've explained to his son what's going on before but he really doesn't understand... it hurt my feelings (hormones) because it felt like he was telling me that I don't love his and I'm more into being pregnant than being around his son and that's really not it... granted it took me years to get pregnant and this is my first... I love that boy like I have birth to him. but I'm so emotional and I try to stay away because I can be moody and I thought that by avoiding him I was going the right thing... I need help... am I going about this the right way?
I have a 7 yr old stepson.. we just got custody of him last year. but before that he was always with us. I never thought I'd be able to have my own child.. I'm 23 weeks pg. and I am so scared that things will change between us.. I'm trying so hard to have him be a part of every decision I make about the baby.. from picking colors to her room.. but when we go shopping I just wanna buy everything for my baby! I've spoiled my step son so much so he's just going to have to get used to sharing.
He probably won't understand. All you can do is keep explaining when he's being rough and ask to be gentle so it doesn't hurt you or baby. Also just continue to give hugs and reassure you love him.
My step son always wants to just on me or lay on top of me which is okay but he is super heavy so I don't want him jumping all over me and sometime my boyfriend dosent understand how careful I need to be with this pregnancy so he thinks I'm being mean to him when I'm really not I love the child as if he were my own !
@itsamemario, you deleted your post before I could hit send but this is my comment: I don’t know if this answers your question but this is my answer.
My son is 7 and he knows race and color. Why? Because he himself comes from a family that is multi racial and because he has already experienced racism. I also believe as his mother it’s my job to teach him color and the cold hard truth about society. He knows what’s going on in this world. I’d be hurting him if I allowed him to blindly walk out...
I need to ask someone this have you literally regret having a child with someone. I love my daughter with all my heart but I really regret ever being with her dad.

This is my son Walter. Today is his birthday. He would have been five. This picture was taken when he was 16 days old. He was my first child and my only son (I now have 3 girls). He passed away the next day after this picture from congenital heart failure. It was a miracle that he lived passed 12 weeks gestation because of how severe his heart defects were. I miss him so much, I can't believe it's been 5 years. It still hurts so bad. I don't talk about him a lot out loud because I end up bawling...
I really hate tampons. I know we need them, but I really really hate them.
Emerson? Girl or boy name?
My husband and I love the name Emerson for our son. But after I looked it up I saw that is really popular in the US as a girls name. What do you think?
thanks y'all. I'm trying to be as sweet as I can but lately I've enjoyed just being alone he's only with us on weekends and holidays so I understand his excitement when he sees me and I try to be the same and continue to be sweet but it's hard because I just wanna be alone @peanut_baby @39surp @breeliz18
