I see a lot of birth stories so let me put mine: I honestly had no idea how far along I was I thought I was 36 weeks, apparently I was 40 weeks 5 day, I didn't have much prenatal care because I kept losing my Medicaid from being homeless. For two weeks I had been complaining about my pelvic area hurting but everyone told me it was normal so I didn't expect much of it. I had wanted to go to the hospital that whole two weeks but my boyfriend works so much, we couldn't find the time, one Thursday afternoon he was off and we went to eat and then afterwards we went to the hospital, they of course put me in a wheel chair and wheeled me all over the place, running test, doing ultrasounds and finally the OB at the hospital came in and checked I was 1 cm dialated, I got SO excited...They were going to send me home but my daughters heart rate kept dropping so they decided to keep me over night to evaluate it. I kept getting medicine, that made me doze off, to ward off the major pain I was having due to contractions. I kept waking up and screaming because it was so painful. I got to 4cm dialated and I couldn't handle it anymore, I asked for the epidural(which I would've gotten anyway due to my csection) the next morning doctors rushed in waking me up saying my daughters heart rate dropped and they had to perform and emergency csection RIGHT NOW! I immediately got so scared and was crying, shaking and in shock I could think of anything, they rushed me back and moved me on to the table..all I could remember was shaking and them telling me it would be okay...I remember my boyfriend coming in and I looked at him and I could see on his face he knew I was scared and so was he. My legs went numb, got hot and felt like I was paralyzed and soon enough I just dozed off. At 12:10 p.m my daughter was born. I didn't get to see her, or hold her, my boyfriend was behind me holding her. I don't even really remember anything in that time. I couldn't see I kept trying to force my eyes to seem. I'm not sure what time it was when I got into the room but I do remember posting the first picture of my daughter at some time around 1:00 for the world to see. I immediately started breastfeeding when they gave her to me, she latched on so well, still does. I will NEVER forget the day I gave birth to my Layla, 8 pounds 6 ounces, 19 1/2 inches long and looking just like her daddy. It has been such a blessing that she was and is perfectly healthy. I wouldn't trade her for the world. She was only two days old in this picture!!!
