I do that . but like what do you do if it happens on public cause so many people are against it

I had to beat my step daughters ass (age appropriately of course) since she was 1.5 years old lol. she was bad asf!

It is proven that the more you hit your child the worse their behavior gets in time. The first couple times they are shocked and will listen but after that they become angry and more aggressive. Also it is not recommended to hit a 2 year old and anything before 2 is pointless because they most likely don't know why they are in trouble. Even with children 3 to 6 there behavior, if not corrected by the first couple of spankings, will get worse. I recommend things like time out, award systems, groundings or just letting them cry and don't give into it. The terrible twos are horrible.

@mltober @capri2015 if that's the way that you ladies feel, then have at it. however, my children will be spanked. I was spanked as a child & I'm fine. time out, award systems & groundings didn't work on my step daughter, or any other 2 yr old that I know. If you've been blessed with a child that actually stops when you say to stop, the congrats! bc that's rare these days! My kids only respond to the "hand to bottom" method. the oldest is 17 & he no longer gets spankings, of course, however he does listen now, bc he knows his father will fuck him up if he needs to! And my step daughter knew exactly what she was doing when she was 1.5 yrs old, that's why she would try to hide stuff & already lie about her not being the one to do it. I guess every child is different, however my kids will respect me, & I refuse to let them run all over me bc they think they can just do whatever they want & all I'm gonna do to them is ground them.

If that is how your children learn, then thats good you found something that works for you. I am just saying if her child is not listening to being spanked then she should try other things. I was also pointing out that the pediatric association does not recommend spanking because after the first couple of times studies have proved that childrens behavior gets worse. You will have to spank them more often or they will misbehave more often then they normally would have. A class I took over 2 year olds as part of daycare training even explained that the best thing to do is act like you don't care when they throw a fit. Just let them cry and tell them things like "we will continue when your done" or "are you finished" @lovemyson_610
