I did one since I'm adopted and so is my husband's mom since we don't have accurate family histories. it's not a big deal and your OB can figure out an excuse for insurance to cover it. They don't do it until 16 weeks.
@chingona, yes most places call it the harmony test i just had it done at 13 weeks n got my results in a week
where I'm at it's called the maternity 21 I've had it done with my last & this time I had one done that wasn't as in depth as that one that one told us gender & all the one I got this time just checked for down syndrome & trisomy 18 & a couple others I cant remember
