I need advice on nursing!! Baby has been nursing for over an hr.. He stops I lay him down he starts to cry and looks for the boob!! How do I know if he's getting enough!! This is harder than I expected. HELP!
make sure you drink lots of water as well! it helps with your milk and keeps you both hydrated! :) good luck! :)
Thank you so much!!! I went to the doc today and she wants me to give him 1oz of formula after feedings since he was dehydrated. She said only until my milk comes on so hopefully in the next couple of days it's here. @hannahk0624
You're welcome sweetie. I'm new at this too. my son is a week and a day old today. he cluster fed alot at 3 and 4 days old and now he's gone back to normal and it was so worth it because he gained weight and he learned to latch good. I know it's tiring and tempting to give up but you can do this! message me if you ever need to talk :). don't forget this mommy is up all times of the night too :)
@lucylu2, trust me I know the feeling he is my 1st as well i had moments just want to give him a bottle of formula just to get a break was so overwhelmed just keep in your mind this is your plan this is whats best for your baby your body is literally made to do this you did the hardest part carried him 9 months and delievered him now you get to nurture him and watch him grow up giving him the good stuff is helping both of you in the long run plus it makes you feel good that you can do this for your child if you ever need to talk just message me
At 4 days old he's nursing so much to build your supply. He needs to be at the breast as much as possible.
My son is 4 days.. @atlas it's been rough. I know I still have some time to go. Thank you ladies
my son would do that all the time sounds like cluster feeding or growth spurt as long as he's gaining weight and pooing and peeing he should be fine. I worried about that also I am assuming he is about to have a check up so they will be able to tell you if he gained weight or not. My son is 8 weeks old and still does that I just give him a pacifier when he will take it but dont give up you can do this
yes that's when they have the most growth spurts is when they're newborns
@aek91, thanks. Even if he's 4 days old? Sorry I'm a FTM and I'm worried and tired.
cluster feeding its normal he's going through a growth spurt keep feeding on demand it helps your milk establish
it'll be okay, I promise :). your baby may also just want mommy. after feeding him try to put a pacifier in and hold him for a little bit before putting him down
if u want to make sure he eats enough let him suck til he let's go
@hannahk0624, that pacify is ready to be used. I guess it just worries me, I want to make sure he eats enough. He's only 4 days old
It's so hard to get him to lay down for a nap.. I'm to the point where I want to give up... I feel horrible
cluster feeding is very normal. your baby is growing. my thoughts are that he's also wanting to suckle for comfort so maybe ask your pediatrician if it's okay to pacify your baby. I did for my baby who I'd a week old and it helps.
Either that or he just like to stay on the boob. My baby liked staying on my boob to fall asleep. He even just nibbled on them.
Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no,
his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me...
Little man is teething like crazy and he refuses bottles and doesn't want formula. He wants my breasts and keeps nursing. He hasn't nursed in months. I don't produce enough for him to nurse. I need advice 😭
So frustrating, Max spits/voimits after every nursing. Dont know what to do. He is fussy and hungry but whats the point to nurse when he spits all. Should I breastfeed him more after he has vomited or what??

Just saw this on the news... Apparently military moms can't nurse in public?!? I find that ridiculous!!!
Weaning
We are finally on the path to being weaned! He was down to only nursing for nap time and at night but yesterday he did so well not nursing at nap time that we went ahead and dropped the night nursing as well! If definitely took forever to get him to fall asleep but thankfully I'm a sahm and Athena isn't due until April. Hopefully we find better ways to fall asleep quickly before then. I think the whole process would be easier if my husband would put him to sleep but sadly he works long...
keep nursing if he's rooting
