I'm gunna take a nice long bubble bath with some Lavender for my pain and some Clary Sage to hopefully get my labor started. since my doctor doesn't wanna call me back when I'm in pain and wanted her advice.
@jnh199243, idk, maybe. if you have Braxton hicks it might. if you don't have any contractions whatsoever, not even BH, I would be inclined to say no. only because the way it works is to encourage contractions, so they stay strong, speed up or stay constant.
very interesting. I don't contract or dilate on my own. I wonder if that could help me when the time comes.
@jnh199243, it's not predicted to induce labor per-say but it does help encourage contractions, helping to keep them from slowing down or stopping.
@jnh199243, they haven't been able to do many studies on it because it's hard to prove your labor would have been different with or without it. but they had a few aromatherapists administer it to women with weak contraction patterns and they saw a 40% decrease in the need to administer pitocin to women who would otherwise have needed the pitocin to keep contractions going.
I've never heard of that. does it have a good rep of working?
@amorasmom, some reputable companies are plant therapy, Aura Cacia, Still Point Aromatics, and Jade Bloom.
it should never be used before 38 weeks, it should also always be diluted. you can dilute it in coconut oil and rub it on your abdomen, diffuse it in the air to smell it (which also helps) or add it to your bath like I am. but oils do not dilute in water so you would have to mix it with something like Castille soap, or even unscented bubble bath solution.
@amorasmom, it's not the bath that might help, it's the Clary sage I'm putting in it. Clary sage is an essential oil that's encourages steady contractions and helps move labor along.
how does taking a bath help get the labor started?
@mommagotbump16, Thanks! I think @abella1023 and I have the same due date, so any day now we should have some babies lol
Good luck to both of ya! @abella1023 @crunchymomma
@abella1023, I was dialated to 3cm yesterday, the doctor tried to talk to me about induction but he wasn't MY doctor and I don't wanna be induced until I'm close to 42 weeks if I can help it. he doesn't think I'll make it to monday though so that's good news :)
I got a membrane sweep today. I'll also be taking a bath to hopefully help get labor started😁 good luck!!
Having some pretty intense constant lower back pain and maybe super light contractions. But can't tell because the back pain is way over powering contractions so I'm walking around my room to see if they get worse.
Hi I'm really needing some help with some questions I'm having about my pregnancy
Some people I swear 🙄
I'm just going to sit here and shake my head at you. You are ridiculous. 🖐🏻
Who has been knocked out for surgery ? I'm super nervous and it's my first time going under. I will be asleep for a septoplasty my nose turbinates are swollen and my septum is deviated. I need to be able to breath , stop getting pain and a full ear feeling , crackling noises and sinus infections I will have recovery time for a week and some pain meds I just need some advice and to lessen my anxiety.
So apparently laughing gas is a possible option at some hospitals for pain relief... Defiantly something I'm going to ask my doctor about today! I'd rather have that than a needle in my spine!
well I always have BH but they never seem to go anywhere. my last child I did make it to 1cm like the day before they induced me. they won't let me wait long for my babies cuz my first child I waited and his head swelled in my canal.
