MY BIRTH STORY:

On December 3rd I was induced with my first baby at the age of 17. I was 42 weeks exactly and was induced at 7pm. I arrived and was hooked up to my iv and cervadil was inserted. I was only 1cm when I got there. I arrived already having pretty steady contractions from shopping all day and trying to get last minute things ready. My cervadil was removed at about 8:30pm after my body decided to go into labor itself. They went ahead and started pitocin to speed things up. I was given pain medicine to help me sleep and rest as much as I could. I woke up at 3am with full blown back labor and opted to get my epidural. I was still only at about 3cm then. At around 4am it was inserted and I slept a little longer. I woke up at 7:30am and was checked by the doctor and was at 7 cm. at 8:30 am I began to feel pressure and my epi was long gone. The dr was called as I was 9cm and ready to go. When she arrived I pushed for about 10 min and our 7 lb 15 oz Carsen Wade was born! He was 21 3/4 inches long and I ended up with 1 stitch. He was born on 12/04/12 at 9:04 am. 2 weeks and one day past my due date.

My doctor said he would induce my labor at 38 weeks, if my baby girl still had growth issues and if the percentile dropped to 10 or less. Last thursday, it was 10 percentile, and he said if she didn't come on her own by 38 weeks, he would induce labor at that time. I'm 36 weeks 1 day today, he said my cervix was super thin, and 1cm dilated. Is there a possibility this can change... that my doctor will let her just come on her own? I don't want to be induced, i would much rather her come on her own when she is ready to come ! As much as I am anxious to meet her and have her home with me, those last few weeks of brain development and lung maturation means so much more to me! I'm hoping and praying that things turn around, and I don't have to get induced. I'm surely going to talk to my doctor about it Thursday when I go back.
