Ladies, my son is 2 months going on 3. At 3 weeks I started to give him formula because he latched wrong and I started to bleed. One night I just couldn't take it anymore so my mom gave him a bottle of formula and he's been on it since then. My milk started to go down so I tried Mothers Milk Tea and nothing worked. I was pumping also but wasn't pumping enough to feed him. I'm taking Fenugreek capsules now and their help a little but how long should I be pumping? I try to pump after he eats for 30 minutes each side but sometimes he doesn't stay asleep long enough. Boyfriend & Mom work all day so I'm usually home alone until they get off. I want to go back to giving him breast milk and still continue formula but I'm starting to give up on breastfeeding. He won't latch back either. HELP!!!

With latching you will just have to keep trying it's possible he will pick it back up. As for your milk supply you can try thick cut oats or oatmeal cookies that usually helps my milk supply a lot. And keep pumping after every feeding. Even if it's only 15mins that'll help

If he takes a bottle well you could try a nipple shield! he might latch on to that better. As for pumping try 15 to 20 min on each side every 2 hours around the clock! This will simulate cluster feeding and should up your supply!

@breastmilkmama I was looking into getting one as soon as I'm able to pump 4 ounces. That's how much he eats. Just pumped both sides for 20 each and already kind of leaking as I'm taking 3 Fenugreek capsules a day..

Keep offering him the boob first before he gets too hungry. You can stimulate him by rubbing your nipple on his lips and that may get him to latch on. I wish I could post a video for you. But persistence is key! Don't give up! And the more you give formula the less likely your body is to know you still need milk. It's an awful cycle. Have you been able to do hands free pumping with a double electric pump? That would save you time in between his feeds. If you need help with ideas for boosting supply I've posted things to eat and drink in this group but I will gladly post them here if you'd like.
