I'm new to this site but am not new to judgement. I am currently expecting my first born in July and I cannot begin to explain how precious this is to me.
Here is where judgement begins, I am a grateful recovering addict. After 12 long years of substance abuse I surrendered and decided to receive treatment. I went to treatment last April. In July of 2015 I met the father of my unborn child, he was also in treatment for substance abuse and has been clean for year in February.
8 Years ago I had battled with ovarian and uterine cancer and was told children were not in my future that conceiving is a one in a million chance. Today I am 11 weeks and 2 days into carrying that one in a million baby.
I was told that getting clean comes with gifts of recovery, by far the best gift I've received this last year was this opportunity to be a mother. I receive a lot of judgement for being a recovering addict, but I can say that my desire to use has been lifted and my desire to be the best mother I can be has been restored.
I have notified my doctors of my disease and willingly take drug tests at random.
judge me if you must, but I cannot be any more happier with my new life, clean and serene with the universes' greatest gift.

Congratulations on both wonderful things!!! my dad is a addictions councilor and wrote and addictions program so I know how hard it is for people to take the first step in getting help and then overcoming the desires. I'm glad you had your 1 in a million chance!!

Congratulations girl! I've struggled with overcoming hard drugs and I've watched my step sister go through recovery 4 times to overcome yrs of drug abuse! I've also watched as she almost died from a very big POS ex of hers. No judgement here just sympathy and encouragement 😊

hard drugs were my downfall i lost everything. after getting clean i gained so many blessings. the father is much older than i am and battled substance abuse for over 20 years. i believe that our little family is a miracle. for even one addict to get clean is a miracle nevermind two and a baby that was never suppose to be. im beyond grateful, for this and all of you

theres no judging here you did the right thing and got clean and for getting clean you were rewarded with a miracle baby just know that this baby is your second chance at a better life and use that second chance to make yourself happy in ways that drugs can never give you

I am also a recovering addict we deserve a chance at life also we made our mistakes and paid our debts you receive no judgement here and I am so happy that you are beating the odds in even conceiving a child still just take everything a day at a time I've been clean for 4 years in March and it's still a struggle for me but I wouldn't go back to my old life for anything you just keep on pushing through and be the best momma you can be congratulations girl 😍😘🤗☺️❤️
