Did anyone's Strep B test come out positive?

@charleemommy, I was so unsure what it was when they told me. just a bacteria. I was thinking did my husband give me this? can I have sex with him, will he get it? lol they say it can be past to the baby when you deliver, but not to a mate. but also what I read, the baby will be treated and be fine.

I would think they would just call you in a prescription. but with you close to delivering I'm not sure. I guess when I see my doctor I will ask some more questions about it. because I'm pretty confused about it.

It has me worried a little bit. My doctor said they will give me antibiotics once I get there, but I was wondering if they could give some before then.

now I'm confused about mine. y'all found out closer to labor? I found out at 1 week past my 12 week appointment. taking the antibiotics now. so I wonder if it's definitely positive or just a virus that will go away immediately.

yes. mine did. I've never had it before. was pretty confused when they told me. I've never heard of it before. thought they meant strep throat lol. they gave me a prescription of antibiotics for 5 days. 2 a day. I have my last two tomorrow. hopefully this is gone. because it really made me worry when I look it up online. but also, there's lots of pregnant woman who get it.

yes if positive for strep b and your water breaks you need to go straight to the hospital I had it and they didn't know it cause I didn't get the test done cause i went into labor before my test and my son had to be tested for it

@charleemommy yes. you need antibiotics as soon as labor starts.

Mine was positive, and yes I was told to. I didn't rush in when I was in labor because I was only having contractions, but they say if your water breaks to go in asap.

no but if it does, you just get antibiotics when you go into labor

mine did. i see them monday to dicuss.
