I just got mine yesterday, it's the whooping cough vaccine. My midwife suggested it to help build baby's immunity. She said it we were to get whooping cough it would make us fee really bad but we would eventually get over it. If little babies were to get it and not have immunities they can't fight it as well. And can end up with RSV which often leads to a host of respiratory problems later in life. It's also one of the shots they'll get at their 4 month appointment...so they'll get a booster in their system.

They have a sign posted on the wall in each room @ my doctors. I just went to my 20 week checkup today, so I haven't had this discussion with my OBGYN. I don't remember having one with my other two kids. I wonder if it's a new guideline.. @aj33

i don't know, but I was irritated enough as it was today at this appointment, I felt rushed the whole entire time. And then to read this and not be offered it when I would have gotten it no problem.. I don't know it's frustrating

now I get to call back again tomorrow and ask about it

I got it 28 weeks.

I got that as well as the flu shot on the same day. I was about 28-30ish weeks from what I can remember. My doctor & midwife highly recommended it, and after taking birthing/labor classes, I completely agree with getting the shot.

Just call tomorrow and see what they say :) Head up momma!
