opinions on crib Bumpers? I don't want the statement "oh well they say babies shouldn't have them in a crib it's a hazard " I want opinions like... if you're using one now. or have used one in the past. or plan on using one! my boyfriend's mom is throwing a hissy fit bc his step mom is buying a crib bumper for us. personally...my son will be in his bassinet for the first 3 months if that. and it's a huge crib. I feel like he's gonna be fine with it in there.

Yeah I'd get a mesh bumper. I've always had bumpers and I like the mesh ones better.

i had the mesh kind..but 6 months and after i personally believe the regular ones are okay, if thats the ones you wanted to use.

@bphipps29, yeah she's buying two. a mesh one and then one that goes with the theme of the nursery. and I was thinking of weaving it so there's less chance of him getting caught under. I personally just feel like my boyfriend's mom is being hateful towards his step mom and what all she's buying bc she hates her. and I'm tired of her putting in his head that what she did is what will be best. I'm like Uh no. my kid I do what I want with him. have another if you wanna be bossy. oh wait... your tubes are burned sorry not sorry

I have the regular bumpers and my boys are fine. without them my boys would hit their heads but they've never had a problem, and they're 4 months now. But that is what works for me n my boys

My mom used them on all her kids and we are all fine and according to statistic by cnn 77 possible deaths were due to bumpers but that was the span of 1985-2012 27 years less than 3 babies die a year because of bumpers people are freaking out over nothing I can even send you the link to the article if you want
