when do babies hold their head up on their own? I'm doing a lot of tummy time for my baby

tummy time is best! every child varies. since my son was born he always holds his head up. now he sits up on his own and tries to stand now at just 3 months.

Honestly and I'm not just trying to one up anyone, but my girl could hold her head up while sitting up straight at 3 weeks old! I could hold her up right in my arms and walk around and she'd just hold that head up and look around, it was a bit wobbly but steady enough to handle it! I have a friend who has a 2 month old who barely can hold her head, so it varies! It depends on how much you let your baby try I think, you gotta pick your baby up and do tummy time on your chest or just (with hands at the ready for support) let your baby practice sitting up and down slowly, always support if baby doesn't hold the head herself but let her try! I never babied my girl too much or let her sit around in a bed or bouncer or car seat I held her and let her try and be a big girl as much as possible 😜

most babies its around 3 months. My daughter had her head up strong around 1 month, all babies are different. 3 months is just the milestone marker. Tummy time 3 to 5 times a day will do your munchkin good. i did tummy time on my tummy because my daughter had more motivation to pick up her head and look at me.

My son was doing it at 6 weeks old. but he started trying to do it before we had even left the hospital after he was born! he's never like to lay down and be held like a baby 😥😥 he always wants to sit up!

I think my boys were really trying hard and we're still wobbly at 1.5 months but by 2 months they had it down, but they do TONS of tummy time since we came home from the hospital

depends... mine always held there head up within a few weeks but I think 2 months is normally when they do it.
