Hey breastfeeding mamas! what kind of schedule works/worked best for you? we are working on a 2 hour schedule so far and it seems to really be working for us day and night.

I feed every 2-3 hours and my baby girl is now 3 months old. I usually feed on demand and pump in between if I feel myself getting too full. But yes it is very tiring especially for single moms

Hahaha sometimes I wish my girl still slept as much as a newborn 😂 but that's only when she's going through a growth spurt and switching up her sleeping schedule outta nowhere lol I get desperate for a nap 😂😢 lol

Don't worry mama, sounds like you're doing a great job, keep it up! Breastfeeding can be hard, and painful at times and very tiring, but it's so worth it!!!

Ah and as long as baby is peeing at least 6 times a day and getting 10 mins or more on the breast, gaining weight and seems content, they are getting PLENTY and it's okay if they fall asleep when they're done! It looks like your baby is only a week or two old, they sleep A LOT when they're thst young, and falling asleep at the breast is normal, breastfeeding has that effect it naturally tires out baby and even mommy! It's because it releases oxytocin, the love hormone, and it's very relaxing....now if baby isn't giving you enough pees per day or isn't gaining weight appropriately then yes, definitely try to keep that baby awake longer, but otherwise enjoy that natural sleep remedy 😉

@pregomego, we were doing that. it was to the point where my husband had to sit there and play with his feet the entire time. @hellosweetie I totally get that. no pacifier or bottle here either so far and hopefully not ever. I just needed some thing to work instead of both parents up all night to keep baby up to feed :/

Yes schedules don't really work as well as feeding on demand does, I'd stick with that...their needs fluctuate from week to week, when they go through growth spurts they cluster feed and then they'll eat less often when they don't need as much....I'm 4 months strong, not one bottle or pacifier, and a big part of our success is because I've always let baby lead the way 😄 She's smart, knows what she needs and when she needs it! 😉

Mine does sometimes too, have you tried tickling his feet when he falls asleep? That usually helps my baby refocus a bit.

@_akgirl, @pregomego my little guy is a bit of a lazy eater when we were on demand. he latched and fell asleep almost every time :/

nursing on demand. whenever baby wants for however long baby wants. it's the best for your supply. and that way it ensures baby gets equal foremilk/hind milk ratio
