February 7-14 is Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Awarness week. My son has ASD which is a CHD. His red blood (oxygenated) mixes with his blue blood (de oxygenated) through a whole in the walls that separate his heart. Although it does not effect him physically, his little heart has to work twice as hard to filter out his blood. If the hole in his heart does not close in 1 year he will need surgery to repair it. I know there are others whose children have CHD that do affect them on a day to day basis. Remember to wear red to support those children who were born with a broken heart 💔
