I don't understand why at 10 weeks I have to have a birth plan and a pediatrician picked out-.- like i have 29 more…

yeah you have more than enough time. I got my information at 26 weeks.I still don't have a pediatrician lol

its better to get it done now before you start getting everything else ready... so you don't get overwhelmed

I guess its good to be prepared either way so at least you'll have that out the way.I haven't turned mine it yet I just got mine @callumsmommy

i didn't have a ped til after my daughter was born. and they didn't even look at my birth plan, just asked me all the questions

were they really pushy about it? that's very rude. tell them you need time. and put your foot down about it. it's not something you should just wing

Girl I hated my OB asking me that question. I seriously told her, "Look, I don't even know the gender yet, and the baby can't see the pediatrician if "born" at 10 weeks gestation. So can we just hold off on that question until the baby at least has a name?" Thankfully, she held off until just recently (Now I'm 31 weeks). It just doesn't seem practical to have a pediatrician picked out that early on.

Tell them you plan to have a healthy baby no matter what and that's how far you've gotten as far as a birth plan. Mine still isn't drawn up yet 😂

if you want any pain meds (your preferred and back up) if you want music, who you want in the room if anyone. who will cut the cord. if you're breastfeeding. who will give first bath. who you DON'T want there. those were some of the questions on mine.

That's the worst. I hated how after I had my c section with my daughter that everyone swarmed her and I at the hospital. She was in the NICU and everyone kept wanting me to get up and take them to the NICU to see her and I was like "Chill out I was just cut open please let us rest." Definitely let your doctor know how many people you want in the room and who they are exactly. People will try and guilt trip you and make you feel bad if you don't include them, but your stress level is his stress level, especially during birth and those fragile moments after. I plan on a vaginal this time with just my husband and I in there with very limited visits during our stay.

@kikibee, so far the only person in the room will be my fiance and one family member. I won't change my mind becasue I want to be comfortable, but like I'm having them private list me bc I want NO-ONE up there that's me and josephs time to get to learn and have time with our son

and that would 've awesome girl!! that's totally the way to go
