It all is completely normal. I was worried at first too because she would always eat. If you have a fb, there's a group I joined that helps a lot with breastfeeding.

Sound advice from above commenters, I wanted to touch on the subject of the rush of milk called the "let down" though....it's very true, when I baby feeds every 5 min or so there will be a let down, it's triggered by the baby suckling and also the love hormone called oxytocin, and many babies will either get one let down and unlatch because they are full, but then want to eat again soon after, but also they may just keep suckling and waiting for the next let down! I assure you, wanting to feed for long periods is completely normal for a baby in a growth spurt!!! But also they are very efficient and when they really want, they can feed for only 5 to 10 mins and be done! It's really all about making sure baby pees enough and watching weight gain to make sure they stay on track 😁

Any time! You're a great mama, remember that 😁 if you ever have any doubts, message me, I'm an advocate of breastfeeding for all its perks but more importantly I'm an advocate for raising mom's up and showing them how amazing we all are, no matter how we choose to parent!

As horrible as this may sound to a tired mama with sore nipples, I gotta say, you are actually doing an EXCELLENT job!!! It sounds as though he is in a growth spurt, he will want to constantly feed regardless of how much you are producing, and formula may seem like a quick fix to make him fuller longer, but that's not always the case! It's not always about feeling hungry, they also cluster feed for comfort, and because they need the extra help to fuel their growing mind and body...I know it seems like it will last forever and that he's not getting enough, but from what you've just told me he's getting PLENTY. Might wanna break out the next size up in his clothes, because he's about to grow a lot at once!!! It is COMPLETELY normal and you are doing PERFECT with just the breast, don't doubt yourself!!! Now, as for the pain, I've been there, trust me. My girl had a lip tie that KILLED me for weeks on end, but I kept telling myself just one more feed, one more day...and we did it! Trust me if *I* can do it, you can too! I'm not trying to pressure you into suffering through, because it is YOUR choice as a mommy on what is best for your baby, you know him better than anyone, but I am telling you that YOU GOT THIS! You're doing such a good job, you honestly should feel proud 😁

@hellosweetie, thanks for the thoughts :) and he does about 8 wet dialer's a day .. but he seems he wants to eat every hour for 40 min at least today and my nipples feel like they are going to fall off lol and I feed on demand as much as he does

If you're lookin to breastfeed only I suggest counting wet diapers, if baby's making at least 6 peepees per day you should be producing enough! Also feed on demand, as often as possible and for however long the baby wants! It's hard but that is the best way to keep production up, it sends signals to your breasts to produce more every time baby feeds. Drink lots of water, and also Mother's Milk tea works great! I know it's hard, and your baby will go through several growth spurts where all he wants to do is nurse, and you nay doubt yourself, but it is COMPLETELY normal and doesn't mean you're not producing enough! Remember, plenty of wet diapers+happy baby+weight gain at check ups=breastfeeding SUCCESS! If you're really committed don't give up, you can do this!!! I nearly gave in SEVERAL times, but pished through and we're 4 months strong, not a taste of formula!!!
