I get anxiety attacks too. I hope I don't get them lol. I was having issues with morphine when I was in for my, kidney stones. felt like it is labored my breathing. in sure it was my anxiety though. lol.
the side effects of the epi are scary. all I can do is pray. it's definitely gonna feel weird not being able to feel nothing but pressure. when I push. in used to having control, what im doing. lol. @sarahemccormick
And thanks dollface I need all the luck in the world lol. I'm so nervous. lol. @andiryan93
@momma588, Im not gonna lie, the needle is painful. It really is that long, but they try not to let you see it. Its like an 8 or 9 inch needle. They insert the needle into your spinal column very strategically, and remove the needle, leaving behind a small tube which will put the medication into your spine. Once the actual insertion is over, your golden. But regardless, you will feel a huge pinch when they go in with it. Worth it in the end? Id say so. But I am going all natural this go round, like I did with my last son because I want to be able to move and feel my legs. I get anxiety attacks when I cant.
my cousins wife had issues with hers after wards to so I'm hoping and praying for you that the put it in properly and it takes your pain away. good luck mama
yea I did my research too. but for some reason I wanna give it a try. lol. I need ALL prayers. @andiryan93
I did all natural bc I did my research on the epidural and chose the pain over the side effects.
with my first I took it because I wanted to rest, and instead the nurses had me turning side to side every few minutes.. with my second I went all natural and it was the best decision I made. this time if all goes well all natural is my plan.
yeah @momma588 it just freakes me out they timed my moms wrong and gave it to her while she was having a contraction and it actually affected her breathing and this was one of her coworkers mind you my mom is liked by everyone she works with bc she is good at her job so I can only imagine a complete stranger and I'm not one to take things morphine I had to get five doses of it to subside pain from my cysts so why take anything if it may not work for me
fear is the biggest distraction of experiencing something life changing. @abeals04

yesss sign me up as soon as I walk in the hospital.
I've heard those things too. but who knows me,being in labor might go really fast and I won't have time to get one hahaha. it's happened. @abeals04
The whole needle doesn't enter the spine only the tip goes in the rest of the needle is a thin wire that releases the medication into your spine it's like putting an iv in its quick it takes about 40 seconds so fast and worth it lol
no thank you heard to many stories of how it only worked on one side or in my moms case it went upward instead of down and a chance it could paralize me all good you can keep your epidural
They don't keep the needle in there. They stick that needle in and at the top comes out a long tube kind of rubber plastic (I can't think of the right word lol). I heard the thing that "hurt" the most was the bending over part.
that is a good point still not happy about a needle in my back Lol @momma588
