spinal anaesthesia and epidural anesthesia do they both work the same? i kinda dont want an epidural in my back. all this birth planning is scary.

spinals you can also get every 3 hours. @mom_to_be_2016 at least my sister was able to.

@mom_to_be_2016, I have a super low pain tolerance and I had no epidural at all with my son and I was in labor from 3am to 7:30pm.

@mom_to_be_2016, a spinal goes in the put the meds in and it comes out the epidural stays in

I've Hurd the spinal has better recovery and less issues long term but also hard coming down off of it. and honestly they are both a huge risk if they miss ever so slightly it can cause long term damage and issues.

A spinal would be in your back too lol but I believe that numbs you higher up & the epidural is just from the waist down. But I'm not exactly sure about that
